A few years in the making, Song of Slow Bear began after a number of friends suggested, over and over throught a few decades, that I piece together my writings into a book.
     "Okay."
said I, multiple times throught the years, 
     "Good idea!"
and i dabbled and played with 'how' and dove in and forgot about it and returned to the task and... left it alone.
      An evening came when my friend Sitka (our husky/ malamute girl) was eyeballing me while i was fashioning words about Papillion. Head on her paws, she sighed, I leaned back and regarded her...
     "Is you, or is you not?" i heard, obviously not in words, likely not through some benevolent telepathic wildness, but i listened, and heard.
      Thus began a commitment to the birth of the book...
