I dreamed america

as if it was home

in such a way that humans

and the life surrounding

were not apart...

they're not,

by the way,

and it's happened.

really.

but...

I woke up,

looked at my lady and smiled.

fell out of bed,

rubbed willow's belly, went into the living room and sat down in my birthday suit on the couch about an hour before dawn.

I went back into the land.

america was gone.

words...

hope...

what remained was life.

the human thing I know -

I can DO that,

but given the choice,

make me wind.

a raven or hunted timberwolf,

or the sun.

I can play this part as mateo till the body falls, but man...

oh lordy....

I'm dumb.

roaring with energy and presence.

not

a part.

the world is screaming a song that eternity is,

and the audience is everyone yet slim.

ok.

okay.

whats breathing me is hearkened to.

I tend its fire,

toss pebbles toward ripples expanding,

and walk on.
